White Fillings

Do you feel self-consious about noticeable silver fillings?

Shipway Dental offers tooth coloured fillings to improve your smile.

Tooth coloured materials are now used routinely for filling teeth, in preference to the older and more commonly used silver metal filling material.

The use of these composite materials which we can reliably bond to the tooth means that we can provide a very hard wearing and highly attractive final result to improve the look of your smile and allow you to laugh with confidence.

Benefits of White Fillings

White fillings are also known as ‘composite-bonded fillings’.
We use them to replace metal fillings and also correct problems such as:

What Happens at an Appointment?

White fillings are completed in one easy appointment.

Firstly, the area is numbed so that the procedure is comfortable.  We then gently remove the portion of your tooth that has been damaged and then replace the missing tooth structure with a filling. Shining a bright blue light on the filling will harden the filling making it very strong.

White fillings match the colour of your natural teeth, to give you a natural looking smile with great dental health and function. You can speak, bite, chew and eat as normal.

Before and After Photos

Internal external bleaching of non-vital tooth with an existing root canal treatment. This upper left central had been stained for years and this patient did not like to smile. This minimally invasive procedure and addition of composite to the fractured edges brought his smile back.
