Before And After Photos

This lady had some failing veneers on her upper teeth and was very self conscious about her smile. I removed all of the old restorations and placed a combination of crowns and veneers on her top teeth. We whitened all of her teeth and I replaced the silver fillings in her lower jaw.

This patient had a vulnerable premolar tooth with a fracture line running through the centre. This tooth is taking a lot of biting load through one half and a crack has formed. The tooth is at risk of fracturing completely in half. It does not hurt yet but as you can see is not as strong as it once was.

This patient chose to have a direct composite crown or full cuspal coverage composite placed to cap the tooth; sharing the biting forces over the whole structure and reducing the risk of fracture.

Steps taken: no local anaesthetic, colour shade match, minimal preparation of cheek side portion of tooth to make space for filling, build up layers of white filling material to replace the worn surface and protect the tooth against biting forces, polish and check bite is comfortable.
